APS offers energy STEM K-12 education grants
Tags: aps, phoenix suns, stem educationSAN JUAN COUNTY — More than $50,000 in grant money is available for area teachers through a joint program sponsored by Arizona Public Service Co. and the Phoenix Suns professional basketball team.
As much as $2,500 of funding is available for teachers in grades kindergarten through 12. Teachers must present in their application an outline for a student-based energy exploration project that uses science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
The funding is offered only to teachers within Arizona Public Service Co.'s service territory, which includes San Juan County.
Applications are being accepted online through Oct. 15 at http://www.aps.com/main/community/dev/CommDev_7.html
