TGen, 5AM partner on cancer genomic research grant
Tags: bioinformatics, cancer, genomics, tgen[SourceL GenomeWeb News] – The Translational Genomics Research Institute will conduct bioinformatics-based research for the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG) network through a contract with SAIC-Frederick.
The contract, which makes TGen an In Silico Research Center of Excellence (ISRCE), provides $692,00 over the first 12 months and it includes two 12-month option periods, bringing the potential value of the agreement up to nearly $2.1 million over three years.
TGen will partner with informatics company 5AM Solutions in the project, which will involve analyzing genomic data from brain tumor models and targeted therapies in order to develop personalized treatment programs.
