Know a high school student who wants to get hands-on with science? Encourage students who will be seniors in the 2010-2011 academic year to apply for a summer internship at the Biodesign Institute at ASU. Interns are expected to volunteer a minimum of 15-20 hours per week June 7-July 19, 2010, and will receive a monetary stipend for travel expenses. The application is online at http://www.biodesign.asu.edu/education/k-12. The deadline to apply is March 31. “Now that I’ve been in a real working lab, biology class definitely will click more for me,” said Jared Naimark, a 2009 intern from Desert Vista High School. “The projects are so amazingly cutting-edge; work done here really is the future.”
