Tags: genomics, infectious disease, university of arizona[Source: Arizona Daily Star] - A University of Arizona researcher has snared nearly $600,000 from the National Science Foundation to study the role viruses play in the growth of an oxygen-starved region of the sub-Arctic Pacific Ocean.
Matthew Sullivan, an assistant professor of ecology and evolutionary biology, will employ sampling techniques developed by his students in the lagoon of Biosphere 2, the UA's science hub near Oracle.
