The Translational Genomics Research Institute was recognized at a national award ceremony last month for its gene localization practice.
The grand prize for discovery and basic research, given in the 'Best Practices' competition by Bio-IT World magazine, was chosen among 33 entrants.
According to the Arizona Republic, it was one of six awards presented Thursday at a dinner at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Other winners included Pfizer Global R&D, GlaxosmithKline, Harvard Partners Center for Genetics and Genomics, U.K. Trade & Investment, and the National Cancer Institute.
"When you consider this national recognition is coming to an institute less than 3 years old, this is wonderfully gratifying," TGen director Jeffrey Trent said at the ceremony.
