The Arizona Department of Commerce will lead an October trade mission to Okayama, Japan, for Arizona environmental technology businesses with a focus on biotechnology.

Commerce will arrange one-on-one business matching for companies with technologies or products in the field of bioprocess, biomass, bio-remediation, and biosensors. Participants will learn how to secure profitable partnerships with their new trade associates and will be assigned "trade aides" or interpreters for the duration of their time in Okayama.

"As a leader in the establishment and expansion of Arizona's environmental technology base, Commerce is reaching out to the most profitable regions of the world for new opportunities," says Commerce Director Gilbert Jimenez. "Japan is a well-established cultivator of new technologies and offers tremendous opportunity for Arizona companies to identify unique and profitable business endeavors."
