Eric Brown of Artisan Homes credits TGen's presence for increasing demand for downtown housing. Artisan Homes developed downtown's Artisan Parkview and is proposing 105 nearby townhome-style units. Meanwhile, TGen is considering increasing its planned facility to 150,000 square feet from 100,000 to accommodate fledgling biotech companies and a National Institutes of Health diabetes research program, according to The Arizona Republic. Building design plans are currently being reviewed, and groundbreaking will take place this summer.
