Full Story:
Sanofi-Aventis, the world's third largest pharmaceutical company, has announced plans to add an extra 100,000 square feet to its two Tucson operations. The facilities, located in Oro Valley, currently measure 25,000 and 10,000 square feet.
Spokesman Marc Greene told the Tucson Citizen the company has yet to determine how many employees it will be adding.
Sanofi-Aventis is a Paris-based corporation. It acquired the Tucson facilities in August 2004 after a series of acquisitions and mergers.
The facilities are the home of a technology center where chemists and biologists work to discover new medical compounds. The center was founded by four University of Arizona professors in 1990 as Selectide Corp.
